Guide to the supply and characterization of structural wood
Since the LIFE EcoTimberCell project, the "Guide to the supply and characterization of structural wood" has been published, a consultation document on the process of characterization of structural wood that also promotes and supports local Galician wood from sustainable forest management, wood that will be used in the manufacture of EcoTimberCell structural systems.
The publication describes and details the process of characterization of structural wood that is carried out through a sequence that begins with a visual classification followed by destructive mechanical testing and ends with the application of non-destructive methods. A methodology based on data correlation that optimizes the supply of local wood for structural timber products.
